 Dr. Margaret M Barrett
Dr. Barrett has been a resident of Florida for almost 20 years and has always
considered Florida her home. Her training began at Nova University, graduating
in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Life Science, a degree she helped design.
She was also the first to participate in the 3+4 enrollment program offered by
Nova University in conjunction with Southeastern University. In 1997, she
graduated with a Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University,
College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale. She completed internships at Bascom
Palmer Eye Institute, Broward Optometry Clinic and the Nova Southeastern
University, Primary Eye care Clinic. She has over 20 years of experience in the
field and as a Board Certified Optometrist; Dr. Barrett continues to practice
primary care optometry and specializes in hard to fit contact lenses and
pediatric eye care.
Dr. Fazeela Karim
Dr. Karim is originally from Guyana, South America and has been a resident of
Florida for over 14 years. Her training began as an optical assistant at the age
of seventeen. Dr. Karim attended Florida International University for 3 years,
and later transferred to Nova Southeastern University, where she received a
Bachelor of Science degree in Heath and Vision Science in 2004 and her Doctorate
of Optometry in 2006. Dr. Karim has trained at Bascom Palmer Eye Hospital in
various specialty clinics including: Glaucoma, Pediatrics, Ocular Onconology,
Retinal Disease, Cornea and Cataracts and General Optometry. She is certified by
the National Board of Examiners Part I, II and III and Treatment and Management
of Ocular Disease. She is Board Certified by the Florida Board of Optometry. She
is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric
Association and Broward County Optometric Association.
Dr. Barrett and Dr. Karim provide comprehensive eye care
including prescribing of eyeglasses and contact lenses, the diagnosis and
treatment of eye diseases, like glaucoma, eye infections, minor eye injuries,
foreign body removal, pre and post-operative LASIK and pre and post-operative
cataracts. We encourage routine, preventative eye care for everyone.
